At The KJV Store, Friday is Family Day. We believe in the importance of faith and family. Out of Print and Used Items 

We understand that it can be frustrating when an old bible has gone out of print.  Unfortunately when something goes out of print from a certain publisher, it  becomes virtually impossible to find a new copy.  As such, we do not deal in used or out of print bibles at this time.  Customers who are open to the idea of a used copy can try Google searching "out of print books", but results will vary as will the quality of used items available.  We are happy to try and help any customer find the next closest thing to their out of print item from our in print selection.

Bindings and Types of Leather

Hardcover (Textbook Style)
Features a protective covering of latex-wrapped paper.  The result is a stiff, durable and moisture-resistant cover.  Some editions have covers which are first printed with the book's title, other text and/or illustrations.  Then the cover is laminated to stiff cardboard.  These bibles are similar in style to a High School or College textbook.  

Imitation Leather, Leatherflex, Leatherette (A Step Above Paperback or Softcover)
A paper-based product, coated and machine-grained to simulate the appearance of genuine leather.  It is inexpensive, tough, and easily cleaned while maintaining a strong resemblance to real leather.  Not as durable as bonded or genuine leather because it contains no real leather.

Bonded Leather (Contains Real Leather, just not 100% Leather)
Fibers, Strips, or pieces of genuine leather are bonded together with latex.  A coated shiny substance and a machine-grained finish give this durable material the look of genuine leather.  It may also be used over stiff or light, flexible boards.  More durable than Imitation Leather but not as good as genuine leather.

Genuine Leather (100% Natural Material, One Solid Flap)
Natural leather usually cut from pigskin (but sometimes also from cowhide), which has been especially selected tanned and grained for bookbinding.  Usually used over light, flexible boards.  Features one solid flap of 100% natural material instead of strips or pieces like in bonded leather.

Cowhide Leather
Natural leather cut from a cowhide, which has been especially selected tanned and grained for bookbinding.  Usually used over light, flexible boards.  Cowhide has a more refined texture and leather grain pattern.  Not as shiny as Pigskin Genuine Leather.  Features one solid flap of 100% natural material.

Morocco Leather
Morocco Leather is described as Calfskin Leather that has been “cut in half”.  So it is basically a Thinner version of Calfskin.  Cambridge Bibles is the main publisher that still uses Morocco or “French Morocco” leather for their bibles. 

Goatskin Leather
Genuine top-grain goatskin which has been carefully prepared for bookbinding in the classic grain for Bibles bound in goatskin.  Some flexible goatskin covers and few Morocco covers are lined-to-the-edge with bonded leather.  The result is a strong, beautiful and supple binding.  Cambridge Bibles is the main publisher that still uses Goatskin leather for their bibles.

Calfskin Leather
This supple, luxurious material comes from the hides of young cattle.  It is characterized by a distinctive grain and fiber structure.  It is long lasting and its suppleness increases with use.  Only the finest leather grains are used here.  Some calfskin leather bibles are lined-to-the-edge with genuine leather.  Calfskin is considered by many to be the best quality leather available for binding any bible.

Lambskin Leather
Lambskin is a type of leather made only from the hide of young sheep. Unlike most other animal hides that are used for leather, lambskin is more delicate, and tanning must be done more gently.  Due to the nature of the product, it is softer and more supple than other leathers. It is more expensive than other leathers and is considered more luxurious.

Caring for Leather

Take Care in the Handling of your new Bible:

Gilt Edges
The gold on the edges of paper, gives a rich, attractive finish to the book, and helps to protect the pages. However, extreme care must be taken to protect the Bible from rain and snow, as the metallic foil may peel, or spot when exposed to moisture. You must also expect scratches to appear during the handling of your Bible. This is normal wear and tear.

Leather
Our genuine leather covers need very little care. Keep your Bible away from sources of extreme heat and from water. Use a slightly damp cloth to clean it but do not use any detergents or other cleaning products. The best preservative for leather bindings are the oils transferred from your hands. The more you handle the Bible, the more quickly it will become supple to the touch.

Paper
Because of the large number of pages, Bibles traditionally have been printed on thin paper. The wide variety of pens and markers available nowadays makes it impossible to say that notes written in the Bible will not smudge or bleed through. The wide variety of pens and markers available these days makes it impossible to give an unconditional guarantee that notes written on Bible pages will not smudge or bleed through over time. If using pens or markers, we suggest that you take care in your choice of writing utensil and the pressure that you apply.  Remember that "All" Bible paper is thin by nature and may still show "some" bleed through and ghosting, no matter how good the quality of the paper is.

Study Bibles and Reference Bibles
What is the difference between a Study Bible and a Reference Bible?

A “Reference Bible” is a bible that in addition to the regular KJV text will be some kind of cross-reference system, usually appearing in a center-column or in the margins of the pages.  This reference system will help you find other verses that pertain to the same topic of the verse you are currently reading.  For instance, if you were reading Luke 2:4 in a reference bible, “And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem.”  The word “Bethlehem” would have a letter such as “a” or “b”, then in the column or margin where you see the “a” or “b” it will refer the reader to Micah 5:2, which is the verse in the Old Testament that prophesied how Christ would be born in Bethlehem. 

A “Study Bible” is a bible that has the regular KJV text plus almost always has a cross-reference system as well, such as the Scofield Study Bible.  But in addition to the cross-reference system (which is all a reference bible has) there will be other background information and commentary or notes about the Scripture.  This commentary usually comes from a Theologian or Bible Scholar.  With the Scofield Study Bible, Dr. C.I. Scofield is the “commentator”.  Study bibles are a great way to receive additional information and understanding about the Scripture that the reader otherwise might not have known or been able to find on their own.  Study bibles are great for new Christians who want a more in depth understanding of the Word of God.  It is important to know that we try not to recommend any study bible over the other, but to let the customer decide for themselves.  This is because WE DO NOT endorse ANY man’s commentary, but rather, we only endorse the actual Scripture text of the King James Bible itself.  All commentary should be read very carefully and critically. ***Note: Remember, Study Bibles usually contain References too so with a study bible you get both a reference bible and study bible in one.

Scofield Bibles

What is the difference between the Old Scofield Standard Edition and the Old Scofield Classic Edition?

The 2 major differences are the physical size or dimensions and the style or font of the letters that are used in these bibles.  The Standard edition is the bigger of the two, measuring 6-1/2 x 9” and user a newer, more modern style of print with Taller letters.  The Classic edition is a smaller sized bible 5-3/4 x 8-3/4” and uses an older style font with Wider letters much like the Old Reference bibles of the 60’s and 70’s.  The text, references, and notes of these 2 bibles and any “Old Scofield Bible” is exactly the same.  They will even appear at the same places on the page no matter which one you get. 

 

Do you have any Old Scofield bibles in a Premium Leather?

What is the difference between any Old Scofield bible and the Scofield III?

The Old Scofield bible features Scofield’s original 1917 notes almost verbatim.  They use a Center-Column Reference system and the notes always appear at the bottom of the page.  The Scofield III or Third Edition has these same original notes as well as other supplemental material.  Instead of in a center-column, the cross references appear in the margin of the pages.  And instead of only having notes at the bottom of the page, the Scofield III has notes in many different places, including strategically placed charts and other special sections throughout the text.  It basically says the same thing and has the same info as the Old Scofield, only it arranges this information in a more strategic and user-friendly fashion. 

If you visit the Scofield III page and click on the “Look Inside” images, you can see 3 page samples that show some of these unique features.  The same thing can be done with any Old Scofield bible as well. 

  

Do you have a Scofield Wide Margin Edition?

Yes!  The Scofield Wide Margin Edition is available once more after being out of print for several years.

 

Do you have a Scofield GIANT Print edition?

No.  The Largest Print Scofield bible available is the Old Scofield Large Print Edition which has a size 10 font.  Giant Print does not really start until size 12 or bigger, and currently nothing like this has been published in a Scofield to our knowledge.

1611 KJV vs. "Regular" KJV

Any customer seeking information about 1611 King James Bibles should watch the video above on the 1611 Edition KJV Bible.  This is the fastest and easiest way to learn about the actual difference in the original "1611 KJV" Bible and the regular KJV Text used in today's KJV Bibles.  

Out of the thousands of KJV Bibles that we sell, items on this page are the only true 1611 Facsimiles or Reprints, meaning that they maintain the ORIGINAL spellings, capitalization, and Apocrypha books, as they first appeared 400 years ago in the year 1611.  The "Look Inside" examples of these products, especially for the Facsimile editions, will help anyone get a better grasp on what the 1611 KJV actually looked like.  A common question that we see at The KJV Store is, "what is the difference between the 1611 KJV and the regular KJV bibles we use today?"

1.) The original 1611 spellings are very different from the KJV Bible we use today (typically the 1762 Cambridge Text). There were a lot of "e"s added onto the end of words and a lot of other unusual spellings of words. Perhaps the most infamous example is that of the letter "J".  The letter "J" did not start appearing in the Authorized (King James Version) Bible until the 1700's. So the very name of Jesus in the original 1611 Edition KJV Bible is spelled "Iesus".  If you have a KJV Bible that spells Jesus with a "J" then you do not have an original 1611 edition.

2.) The original 1611 contained the "Apocrypha", 14 additional books that were included in between the Old & New Testaments.  It is the opinion of most evangelical scholars and Christians that the 1611 translators did not count these books as "Scripture" but nevertheless, they did appear in the original 1611 KJV.  There is much speculation in history regarding the reasoning for including the Apocrypha in the Authorized (King James Version) Bible.  This could be partly contributed to the fact that English bibles previous to the Authorized King James Version, including the Wycliffe, Tyndale, Coverdale, Geneva, and Bishops, all included the Apocrypha as well.

3.) The original 1611 contains the "Preface to the Readers" which is a letter from the 1611 translators to the reader that's about 15 pages long explaining what they hoped to accomplish in their work. Other than those 3 things, the KJV Bibles we use today are still basically the same bible. If you read a 1611 Edition aloud and follow along with any KJV bibles printed in the last 100 years, the words will be the same and they will sound the same 99.9% of the time. As to the other .1%, Here is a list of significant changes (i.e., changes which affect meaning) made to the KJV text since 1611. The 1611 reading is first, followed by the 1762 Cambridge.

• 1 Corinthians 12:28 – “helpes in gouernmets” vs. “helps, governments”
• Joshua 3:11 – “Arke of the Couenant, euen the Lord” vs. “ark of the covenant of the Lord”
• 2 Kings 11:10 – “in the Temple” vs. “in the temple of the LORD”
• Isaiah 49:13 – “for God” vs. “for the LORD”
• Jeremiah 31:14 – “with goodnesse” vs. “with my goodness”
• Jeremiah 51:30 – “burnt their dwelling places” vs. “burned her dwellingplaces”
• Ezekiel 6:8 – “that he may” vs. “that ye may”
• Ezekiel 24:5 – “let him seethe” vs. “let them seethe”
• Ezekiel 24:7 – “powred it vpon the ground” vs. “poured it not upon the ground”
• Ezekiel 48:8 – “which they shall” vs. “which ye shall”
• Daniel 3:15 – “a fierie furnace” vs. “a burning fiery furnace”
• Matthew 14:9 – “the othes sake” vs. “the oath’s sake”
• 1 Corinthians 15:6 – “And that” vs. “After that”
• 1 John 5:12 – “the Sonne, hath” vs. “the Son of God hath” 

Additionally, there are 2 primarily accepted versions of the KJV in use: the Oxford 1769 (Blayney) and the Cambridge 1762 (Paris) editions. Here are a couple of Cambridge passages vs. their Oxford counterparts:

"Authorized" King James Version? AND Questions About Various KJV Texts?

Notice that the articles above specify "Authorized Version OR King James Version (KJV)"?

When it comes to customers using the term "Authorized", we typically know what they mean. They are most likely saying "are there any changes to the text of this King James Bible" such as spellings, etc...

Yes, there are apparently some KJV Bibles that use "Americanized" spellings on some words. The examples listed are that "Musick is now Music" and "Saviour is now Savior", "Asswaged" is now "Assuaged".  In most examples, the actual words themselves in meaning are not changed. If we were to do a spell check of the original KJV word "asswaged" in a Microsoft Word document, the suggested spelling will be "assuaged". Our question to those concerned is, what is the difference in this spelling change and the spelling changes that were made from 1611 to 1762 to 1769 to 1873? We don't spell the name of "Jesus" as "Iesus" any more, but we have never heard a complaint from anyone that says, "If it doesn't spell the name "Jesus" as "Iesus" then it's not a true KJV bible".  We have a hard time making such a claim either on a change as simple as "Musick" to "Music" or "Neesed" to "Sneezed".  

The main thing we want all customers to understand is that it's not as if there is a specific KJV translation out there that is called "Authorized" nor is there even a specific Cambridge KJV Text setting that any KJV Scholar agrees is "100% Perfect".  When a publisher produces a "King James Version Bible" they don't call it "Authorized" or "Not Authorized". They don't put that on the outside of the box, or on the copyright page, or in the listed attributes or features.  If they do use the term "Authorized King James Version", they are simply wrong and are using an inaccurate title.  

The "Authorized Version" is actually and technically only the historically accurate name of the "King James Version" as we call it today. The actual name is the "AV" or "Authorized Version", which is what it was named in 1611. But because of King James I of England's reign and involvement in spearheading the translation work at Hampton Court in 1603, the Authorized Version became commonly known as the King James Version or KJV. It is common for many customers to use the term "Authorized King James Version" and you may have even seen or owned a bible that said "Authorized King James Version" on the copyright or title page, however this is an inaccurate title or usage!  "Authorized King James Version" is not a historically accurate statement and is often misused and implied with an incorrect meaning.  Whether someone says "Authorized" or not, or whether a bible says "Authorized King James Version" vs. just "King James Version", the King James Version is still the King James Version.  Use of the term "Authorized King James Version" in a bible does not make it any more authorized than the regular King James Version or a KJV with the absence of the word "Authorized" on the copyright or title page.  And even if a publisher produces a KJV that has a word or spelling or capitalization change that may be undesirable, they still do not actually call it "authorized" or "not authorized" or make any such distinction to us as a Retailer or our customers as consumers.  This is the reality that we face as "The KJV Store" where we do sincerely care about the accuracy of the King James Version (or Authorized Version) text that our King James Version Bibles use. 

For concerned customers, we recommend anything published by The KJV Store, Cambridge, or Trinitarian Bible Society.  These publishers use the most trustworthy KJV Cambridge text as referenced and recommended in "Noteworthy Articles on the King James Bible".

In short, our company wholeheartedly agrees with Gail Riplinger's comments about the so-called "PCE" or "Pure Cambridge Edition" in the article "Excerpts of Settings of the King James Bible", and we disagree with the use of the "PCE".   In accordance with these articles, we believe that ALL of the King James Bibles that we sell are "true" King James Bibles.  We do not sell the New King James Version, KJV 21st Century Version, or any other adaptation of the KJV. We only knowingly sell faithful reproductions of the Cambridge and Oxford KJV texts (and adaptations thereof by the various KJV Bible Publishers).  Our KJV Bibles use the Cambridge KJV text, except for those published by Oxford University Press or R.L. Allan which use the Oxford text.  Our own "The KJV Store" published bibles strictly follow what we believe to be the accurate "Cambridge KJV Text" (NOT the "PCE"), as do our Cambridge Bibles.  

The "Pure Cambridge Edition" text is an out-of-print Cambridge text from the early 1900's. It is considered by some to be superior to other Cambridge texts, however, we do not agree with this claim.

Specifically, the PCE uses a lowercase "s" in I John 5:8:

"And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one." The original 1611 Text also capitalizes the "S" in Spirit: "And there are three that beare witnesse in earth, the Spirit, and the Water, and the Blood, and these three agree in one. 

We believe that the "S" in Spirit should absolutely be capitalized as it is referring to the deity of the Holy Spirit in this all important verse that supports the doctrine of the Trinity. This is supported by the context of I John 5:6:

“"This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth."

The PCE also uses a lowercase "s" in Acts 11:28: "And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar."

We believe that the "S" in Spirit should be capitalized here as well as it is also referring to the Spirit of God based on simple and logical interpretation. For this reason, we do not sell or support the Pure Cambridge Edition text. Research will also show that this edition is currently out of print for the most part with very limited availability to our knowledge. 

For those still insisting on the "PCE", the only KJV Bible we sell that has a lower case "s" in spirit in 1 John 5:8 to our knowledge is the:

We believe that the Cambridge KJV text used in our KJV bibles is superior to the PCE.  For concerned customers, we recommend anything published by The KJV Store, Cambridge, or Trinitarian Bible Society.  These publishers use the most trustworthy KJV Cambridge text as referenced and recommended in "Noteworthy Articles on the King James Bible".

Italics and ALL CAPS in the KJV

First, italics are a part of the original 1611 King James Version. That is how the translators communicated that these English words were not actually present in the Hebrew or Greek. The italics indicated that these words were added to make complete sentences or complete thoughts in English. Most of the time they are prepositions and other similar words that help tie it into our language. As to why some KJV's have them and some don't, I'm not sure. Since the KJV is not "copyrighted", there is also really no one out there to regulate what changes are made to the KJV text. It is more accurate to have italics than not to. But at the same time, if the words appear (in italics or not) they are still a part of the bible. 

Second, the instances of LORD (all caps) in the bible indicate the following:

1. In the Old Testament, it means that Lord or God was translated from the Hebrew word "YHWH" specifically (pronounced "Yah-way").

2. In the New Testament it indicates that the word LORD is being quoted from the Old Testament.

In general, the more details that are present in the KJV text (italics, ALL CAP spellings where appropriate) the better it is in my opinion. An excellent resource for more information on the KJV can be found at the Dean Burgon Society website:

The Apocrypha was a part of the original King James Version Bible printed in 1611. Many KJV Bible readers are not aware of this fact. The Apocrypha is included in all original 1611 Edition KJV Bibles.  We also have "regular" KJV Bibles with the Apocrypha as well as individual volumes of the Apocrypha on our Apocrypha page.

Most scholars and evangelical Christians do not believe that the Apocrypha is "Scripture" or that it has the same level of inspiration as the regular 66 canonical books of the Old and New Testaments.  This does not mean that it is then inherently wrong to read the apocryphal books though or be familiar with their text.

The word Apocrypha simply translated means "Hidden".  This alludes to the fact that the Apocrypha has unknown authorship and is not generally considered as Scripture. The Apocryphal books appear in the original 1611 KJV in between the old and new testaments.  Some scholars believe that even in the year 1611, the KJV translators did not claim or count these extra 14 books as "Scripture". If you look at our original 1611 facsimile's and reprints, you'll see that these books are even categorized differently. In the regular 66 canonized books, at the top right and left of the page, you will see the Verse Reference (such as John 1:2). But in the Apocrypha section, you only see the word "Apocrypha".

The Apocrypha should be viewed as an extra referatory material, and nothing else. It's comparable to the maps and concordance that you might find in a modern day bible. These books are not Scripture, and were never categorized as such in the KJV. As to their inclusion in the original printing, this may have very well been due to some outside pressure or influence on the original translators, but this is only speculation as we have never seen proof one way or the other.  This could be partly contributed to the fact that all English bibles previous to the Authorized King James Version, including the Wycliffe, Tyndale, Coverdale, Geneva, and Bishops, all included the Apocrypha as well.  In 1769 by Oxford University Press (Dr. Benjamin Blayney), and 1762 by Cambridge University Press (Dr. F.S. Paris), the KJV was updated in that Spellings were modernized and made uniform throughout the bible.  Although the matter of much debate, it is likely that the Apocrypha was not removed from the King James Bible until roughly 1885 A.D. in the Cambridge Paragraph Bible. Hence the Apocrypha is typically no longer prsent in 99.9% of KJV Bibles today unless it's a 1611 Facsimile or Reprint.

The Roman Catholic church did not declare the apocrypha as canonical until the Council of Trent during 1545 - 1563.  Whereas in 1563, the Church of England produced their "Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion" in response to the Council of Trent listing ONLY the 66 books of the Old and New Testament as "canonical", and distinguished them from "the other books" referring to the Apocrypha.  The document categorized the Apocrypha as "to read for example of life and instruction of manners; but yet doth it not apply them to establish any doctrine".  We agree with this statement as did Martin Luther with his similar categorization as "Apocrypha--that is, books which are not regarded as equal to the holy Scriptures, and yet are profitable and good to read." (King James Version Defended page 98.)

The Apocrypha does still appear in the Douay-Rheims translation of the bible which is the Catholic church's attempt at an English bible. But this bible was translated strictly from the Latin Vulgate in the year 1589, without consulting any Greek or Hebrew. This same Roman Catholic bible still contains the Apocrypha and has it categorized as Scripture. Obviously we do not agree with this and we do not sell any Catholic items or bibles on our website.

The bottom-line is that the Apocrypha, if read openly and honestly, has some interesting and historically valuable information. But in our opinion, it does not have the same strong thread of the Gospel message as the other 66 books of the actual bible.

Are Your Spanish Bibles King James Version?

A Word about our Spanish Bibles: A common question that many customers ask is “are your Spanish bibles King James Version?” The technical answer to this question is “No”. The next question should be, “How can a ‘KJV’ Store sell something that is not KJV?” The reason simply stated is that the King James Version of the bible does not exist in any other language in the world besides English. In other words, there is no such thing as a “Spanish KJV Bible”. The King James Bible itself was translated out of the desire for English speaking people to have an accurate copy of the Word of God in their own language. By the same token, we feel it is important to make the Word of God available in every language of the world. When considering non-English bibles such as Spanish, French, Italian, German, etc.., we try to offer the most trusted and most accurate translation that is available in that specific language. An increasingly debated topic in English-speaking KJV Bible-believing circles revolves around which Spanish translation is the most comparable to the English KJV text. For Spanish bibles, we have chosen to sell different variations of what is called the “Reina-Valera” Spanish translation (pronounced “RAYNA-VALERA”).

The RVR 1960 (Reina-Valera Revision of 1960) has been the most used and most trusted bible for Conservative Spanish Christians and churches in the U.S. and abroad for over 50 years. Since our company is English speaking, we have found it necessary to depend on information and opinions of KJV Bible-Believing missionaries and pastors in Latin America, Mexico, and Spanish speaking regions of the U.S. who have a better understanding of Spanish bibles and the Spanish language in general. Virtually all of the pastors and workers that we have consulted who only use the KJV in English have also only used the RVR 1960 bible in their Spanish ministries for the past 50 years. For this reason combined with the fact that the 1960 translation is the most readily available for distribution by the CBA Publishers and Vendors in the U.S., we offer the RVR 1960 Spanish bible to our customers. We also feature a handful of 1909 editions for those that prefer it, in spite of any linguistic and grammatical issues considered to be present in its text. However, in light of new information revealed to our company in 2010, and the emergence of the Reina Valera Gomez Spanish Bible, we now offer the Reina Valera Gomez 2010 as an alternative and in addition to the RVR 1960 & 1909.  We have also previously offered the Valera 1865 Spanish bible as well, but have discontinued the sale of this bible due to logistical struggles and lack of readily available distribution from the publisher. 

The Reina Valera-Gomez (RVG 2010) is a Spanish Bible that reads like the English King James Version. The RVG Spanish Bible has been translated using the Hebrew Masoretic text, the Greek Textus Receptus, and the King James Version with collaboration from a great host of Spanish speaking pastors from seven different countries. This definitive translation retains both the beauty of the Spanish language and the accuracy of the English King James Version. We are pleased to now offer the Reina Valera Gomez bible that has been called "The most accurate Spanish bible available" by such organizations as Chick Publications and The Bible For Today/Dean Burgon Society. It is worth noting that all Spanish Tracts produced by Chick Publications that once quoted the RVR 1960 are now being produced with the RVG 2010. For this reason, we now make the RVG 2010 an available Spanish bible option for our customers.

Verse Comparisons of the Reina-Valera Bibles:
The following is an excerpt from an eight page, 220 verse comparison of eight different Spanish New Testaments by Rex Cobb, director of the Baptist Bible Translators Institute. This study consists of verses in the New Testament where one or several of the versions of the Reina Valera deviate from the Textus Receptus. This study does not include the Revisions of 1977 or 1995, which have many corruptions (the 1977 more than the 1995). If you are trying to decide which Spanish bible is the best, and if your criteria is faithfulness to the Textus Receptus, this study may be of help to you. According to these findings, the RVG 2010 has no variations, omissions, or alterations from the Greek Text.

Foreign Language Bibles

Are Your Foreign Language (Non-English) Bibles King James Version?

A Word about our Foreign Language Bibles: A common question that many customers ask us is “are your Foreign Language (non-English) bibles King James Version?” The technical answer to this question is “No”. The next question should be, “How can a ‘KJV’ Store sell something that is not KJV?” The reason simply stated is that the King James Version of the bible does not exist in any other language in the world besides English. In other words, there is no such thing as a “Spanish, French, or Italian KJV Bible”. The King James Bible itself was translated out of the desire for English speaking people to have an accurate copy of the Word of God in their own language. By the same token, we feel it is important to make the Word of God available in every language of the world. When considering non-English bibles such as Spanish, French, Italian, German, etc.., we are forced to try and offer the most trusted and most accurate translation that is available in that specific language. In many instances for many languages, there is only 1 translation available. We unfortunately do not have the resources at our disposal, or the required knowledge of any such foreign languages to accurately research their sources or underlying texts. We choose to offer whatever is available to us as a retailer under the premise that, "A bible is better than NO bible." We appreciate your understanding in this matter, and hope that our selection of Foreign Language bibles will be helpful.

"Custom" Bibles

At this time, it is not possible for our company to produce a “custom” bible for anyone. Especially not a single copy or small quantity. Virtually all of the KJV Bibles that you see available at The KJV Store were produced by the thousands. Most publishers print a minimum of 1,000 – 1,500 book blocks (the printed pages of the bible) at a time in order to reduce the enormous cost of printing. This mostly has to do with the setup time required in printing and that it can take as much time to setup and print a single copy as it can to print 1,000 of the same title. By printing in bulk, publisher’s are able to reduce their cost per printed item and therefore make these titles available at a much lower cost to the consumer. We do our best to offer the largest selection of King James Version Bibles anywhere in the world, but we are still limited to what is readily available from the publishers and suppliers that we work with in the Christian Retail industry or those KJV Bibles Published by The KJV Store. Unfortunately, we are not aware of any such publisher or printer that can accommodate a “custom” KJV Bible request at this time.
